The Marina Heat

yesterday belonged to the class. what a blast.

three quarters of us went for steamboat at marina bay. we agreed to meet at 530 at the mrt station. i met ben toh and boon chong along the way and we reached there around 520. as usual, the whole station was empty around that time. we waited for the rest to arrive then went to the busstop.

while walking, there's this lady from a steamboat restaurant trying to 'cope' us to eat at her restaurant. they even offered free shuttle service to and fro the place with their OWN minivan! what a way to differentiate their product. and the way, moses, jeremy and ivan cracked a few hilarious jokes with the lady like:

ivan: (australian accent) errmm.. we are not going for dinner actually.. errmm.. yea..

lady: aiya wei shen mo jiang ying wen! wo bu hui ting la! gen wo jiang hua yu la! (which means aiya why speak english! i don't know how to hear! talk to me in mandarin la!)

ivan: i.. i'm from australia! i don't understand what you're saying. huh? (we burst out laughing)

lady: (gives up and walks to another group of people)


hilarious moment. then we went for dinner! dinner was okay.. we chionged meat, as usual. meat, meat and more meat. the twist was victor actually 'deep-fried' them in a pool of melted butter. i think it tasted great 'cos the guys were commenting on how sweet it was. well then, after that we went to play pool at the pool parlor nearby (i cldn't believe after so many trainings there i still dint know there was a pool parlor). pool was damn fun, with the same three quarters of the class playing altogether, cheering when the balls went into the holes and groaning and moaning when it missed the hole angonisingly. as a gauge as to how fun it was, we overshot our plan to play for an hour and played for 2 hours instead even though the rate was 8+ an hr!

we finally stopped when we all realised that if we played any longer we'll have no money to go home. but then our plan was to play lan after pool. so who cares the time, we went lan all the same (it was 1020 when we reached the lan place). and that was a blast too.

best of all, the night was completed perfectly when i managed to catch the last train home - i boarded the last train a few seconds before it left. what a night.

Almost There

so, all the H2 papers are over. what a splendid feeling huh. but hey, why do i feel a sense of deja vu?

paranoia or not, i'm not gonna rest on my laurels till i get back my results and ensure i promote this time. i know i will. i'll hate history forever if i don't. wait, if that happens, won't i be hating myself?

HISTORY(H1) to go. argh. i'm gonna overcome you, bugger. i'm gonna continue having bowling sessions with the bowling team. i'm gonna be senior to the new J1 batch. i said this before and i'll say this again - i know i will see good.

sorry. i admit i succumbed to temptations.. i just had to blog! i've 6 days of break before my next paper next wed. i'm not going to mug for all 6 days! at least not today.

i made a pact with quite a no. of people with regards to exam results...

1. to seong hoon - if he gets both As for math and physics, he'll get a treat from me, and vice versa.

2. to boon chong - if he gets 3 Bs he'll get a treat from me; if i get 1 A & 2 Bs, i'll get a treat from him. right boon chong??

okay so that's like all. not many actually. but hey! its gonna be fun to see who's gonna treat who! game on!


one more thing.. i have eaten so much junk food these few days while studying i think my BMI is like sky-high alr!! argh. let's see what i've eaten...

* 2 packets of M&Ms?
* 1 bar of 'marble' chocolate from nestle?
* 1 packet of hershey's kisses?
* many many toast breads with ALOT of margarine!!
* those frozen pizzas you buy from NTUC? think i microwaved 1 to eat.

i know you guys do too okay. hahaha. nonetheless, i'd better get some damn good results to offset all these evil i'm eaten man!!! I'd BETTER...

Funny, Fun, or just simply Retarded?

everyone knows that in school, there are many colourful characters that make up each and every class. this makes a class fun, which in turn makes the school brighter. while some people are naturally borned with 'fun' or 'funny' plastered all over their foreheads, some others create their superficial identities. if it makes a school brighter, wouldn't that be great? but wait, so what down side could it have then?

the answer is very simple. the most likely result is that the latter group will simply forget who they are. they come up with a persona which they perceive is 'fun' and 'entertaining' to the class they are in. sure, in the beginning they would gain a few hearty laughs and attention. once this dies down, it'll just become a passe that everyone expects. however, the subject may have been too engrossed entertaining people such that he/she forgets who he/she really is. he may be too infatuated with the new-found attention that he receives, so much so that sub-consciously, he/she is reluctant to let go of it.

the owners' reputation of this kind of persona changes over time. at the start, they may be labelled as 'hella funny' or 'fun shit man'. soon, they may turn into 'hahaha. ok stop it.' or 'ha-ha.' and they'll eventually end up looking simply retarded.

of course, there is the opposite scenario too.

people don't change for no reason, people will stay the same without reason. therefore, i suggest, let the naturals talk the talk and walk the walk, and let us sit back and enjoy it. at the end of the day, let us congratulate them for making our day, and let the school congratulate us for achieving, academically, aesthetically or athletically.

sorry to disturb you again. this time round i ain't gonna take up much of your time. for a start, i wanna praise you for your wonderful effort to continue providing us with the natural resources we need. but condolences to your wildlife crusade Steve Irwin, who died under the barb of a stingray. bbq that stingray i say!

anyways, this is old news by now, but i heard that your old friend Pluto is no longer a planet? why?! Pluto's niceee... but on the other hand, Pluto literally rocks now. ya? cheers to that.

oh! i just wanna tell you that since the previous letter i wrote you, may things have changed. though i don't know whether people still take me for granted, i certainly know that some specific people do not. isn't that a cause to celebrate?!
hyaiz. if only your citizens make good of the people around them... i have this friend of mine that have really been taken for granted. i really wish that everything will be alright...

oh sorry i'm whining again!

i don't know why, lar, but everytime i start writing to you, i suddenly have so much to say. and i realised i don't give you a chance to speak. i hope you don't find me a nuisance alright, 'cos i know someone that's precisely like that and it's damn irritating. but i know you won't.
